BVI Signs Tax Information Exchange Agreement With Czech Government

The British Virgin Islands has signed a tax information exchange agreement with the Czech Republic, taking the total of such TIEAs it has signed to 22, according to international law firm Appleby in a note.

The Caribbean jurisdiction has recently signed similar agreements with India, China and Germany.

Appleby’s statement said the latest TIEA “reinforces the BVI’s ongoing efforts to be an active and leading participant on the `White List’ of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development jurisdictions adhering to international standards on tax transparency.

The BVI has entered into TIEAs to date with the following countries: Australia, China, the Czech Republic, Curacao, Denmark, the Faroe Islands, France, Finland, Germany, Greenland, Iceland, India, Ireland, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, St Maarten, Aruba, Sweden, the UK and the US.
